The U.S. Mission in Lome, Togo is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Custodial Supervisor.
The work schedule for this position is Full Time (number of hours per week – e.g. 40 hours per week).

Duties
Basic Function of the Position – Under the supervision of the Civil Works Supervisor, the job holder supervises and assists the crew of 5 janitors, who are responsible for cleaning embassy administrative buildings, and residences. The incumbent directly supervises, coordinates, and assists the work of 5 janitors who are responsible for cleaning duties within the Chancery compound as per the daily/weekly/monthly schedule such as: dusting sweeping, mopping, trash remove from waste receptacles, scrubbing, waxing of floors, carpet shampooing, stoned floor crystallization, cleaning of internal and external windows, sanitizing and deodorizing of rest rooms and other facilities. The incumbent supervises pre occupancy and end of lease cleaning duties as required in Short Term Lease properties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing of floors, windows cleaning, general cleaning duties, sanitizing and deodorizing lavatories, commodes and other facilities, cleaning oven, stove, microwave and all other types of domestic appliances.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Two years of janitorial experience to include one year of supervision is required.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level II (Limited knowledge) reading and speaking French ability is required.
Level II (Limited knowledge) reading and speaking English ability is required. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Job holder must display proficient organizational skills.
Incumbent must be physically able to carry out the full range of his duties without supervision. Must be able to demonstrate trade procedures to his subordinates in order to guide them in proper performance of their duties. Must have skills in supervisory functions such as interpersonal communication, team leading, oral and written communication. Ability to maintain simple records.
Must have the ability to train team members in safe use of tools and equipment; ability to track use of materials and prepare material requisitions. Perform light lifting (less than 20 kg) and ability to work at an elevated height, minimum 10 feet high.
Incumbent must hold a valid category « B » driver’s license for five years.
