Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Lome, Togo is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Shipment Assistant (Shipment Supervisor).
The work schedule for this position is Full Time (number of hours per week – e.g. 40 hours per week).

Duties
Basic Function of the Position – Under the supervision of the General Services specialist, the job holder is responsible for, handling all customs and shipping operations for Embassy and Peace Corps. The incumbent is the primary contact on all shipping and customs details and provides coordination between GSO, Local Customs, Transportation Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Tax office. The position holder plans the move in ILMS and provides shipments updates to the staff. Supervises two (2) Shipping and Customs Assistants.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years of work experience in transportation, shipping and customs are required.
Education Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. This may be tested. Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing French is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Job holder must possess strong interpersonal skills for direct and frequent dealing with Americans, customs personnel to facilitate the rapid clearance of shipments as well as establish and maintain an effective network among shipping companies.
Must respond tactfully to customers, vendors, and agents. Must possess basic computer skills (word processing, database and excel spreadsheets).
Incumbent must have a valid category « B » driver’s license for at least five years.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
